More "New" arrivals of Bon Gout at Au Vieux Paris Antiques

Chers Amis,  Bonjour de Pont Breaux!!   Since last week's container arrival, many hands here have been cleaning , waxing ,etc.  I can surely say that in the 26 years that this shop has been in operation it has never had such quantity and quality of items to offer the public!!!  And also at great prices as one recent savvy client was kind enough to comment!!!

This week we hung two huge and very tasty mirrors. See detail of the second one showing the "diamond dust" effect in the glass which is so alluring.  There are numerous Louis XIII chairs which are large, strong and very comfortable not to mention quite stylish.( See photo of a chair dated 1660 with red velvet slip covers at the Louvre, S. V. P., for comparison.). There is a particularly rich selection of lighting devices : chandeliers, sconces, candelabra and candlesticks.

One "decorating idea" apropos for the holidays or anytime, is to have a collection of maybe 8 to 10 candlesticks on a console or commode near the foot of your inside stairs. In the 18th century, a host would always have such a stash ready for their house guests to ascend the steps and light their way to their bedrooms.  So maybe you could try the same idea at your chateau throwing in some fresh camellias to make it even more more festive!!!!

I will be available here at the shop until I leave for France the 18th of December. After that date the shop will be open by appointment with either Faye Cazayoux or Paula Antoine, so please call ahead and make an appointment at a time that works for you. 337 332 2852 .
